Kepler and Peck

After 24 seasons of building one of the most respected high school volleyball programs in Missouri, Tonya Peck, head coach of Fair Grove High School, has announced her resignation.

Her retirement marks the end of an era defined by competitive excellence, strong culture, and transformational leadership.

Since taking over the program in 2001, Coach Peck amassed a remarkable career record of 618-177-53, averaging nearly 26 wins per season over more than two decades. Under her leadership, Fair Grove earned:

  • 10 Class 2 District Championships

  • 14 MLC Conference Titles

  • 4 Final Four appearances (2001, 2013, 2023, 2024)

  • And back-to-back State Championships in 2023 and 2024

Her individual accolades are just as impressive, including 15 Conference Coach of the Year honors, and in 2023, she was named both the Missouri Class 2 Coach of the Year and Missouri All-Class Coach of the Year. She earned Class 2 Coach of the Year again in 2024, affirming her legacy as one of the top coaches in the state.

"Coach Peck’s impact on Fair Grove volleyball and this school community cannot be overstated,” said Fair Grove's Athletic Director, Damon Seiger. “She didn’t just win games; she built a program rooted in character, accountability, and pride. She leaves a legacy that will continue to inspire for generations.”

Former player Abbey Green (Class of 2025) echoes this sentiment, “Coach Peck is the type of person you always want to have in your corner, she has not just been an incredible Coach, but a motivator, cheerleader, best friend, a shoulder to cry on, a role model, and overall just an amazing person. Over my last four years, she has helped me grow into the person and player I am today and I could not be more grateful for everything she has done.”

"Playing for Coach Peck was the greatest honor of my athletic career. She not only is an amazing coach, but she is also the most God-loving and selfless person I know. Day in and day out, she would strive to not only make us better on the court but also off of it. Thank you will never be enough for everything she did not only for us girls but the Fair Grove community as a whole,” shared Brooke Daniels (Class of 2025).

Stepping in as the new head coach is 2012 Fair Grove and 2016 Evangel Graduate, Dani Kepler, a former standout player under Coach Peck and current assistant coach. Kepler has spent the past seven seasons developing under Peck’s mentorship, earning the trust of players and staff with her deep knowledge of the game, passion for the program, and leadership presence.

“Dani knows what Fair Grove volleyball means, because she’s lived it first as a player, and most recently as an assistant coach,” said Seiger. “She’s ready to lead this team forward while honoring the standards Coach Peck set.”

We wish Coach Peck the best in her future endeavors and thank her for her unwavering dedication, leadership, and the lasting legacy she leaves at Fair Grove High School. Always an Eagle!
